Fun with Kids in the Fort for (almost) Free

When it comes to entertaining the kids, movies and new toys can start to add up. Here's a list of fun things to do that don't break the bank and allow you to immerse yourself into the good ole Fort. 

Amon G. Carter Museum: Enjoy the view of the Fort Worth skyline in a fascinating bowl-like yard that is perfect for letting the little ones to run around. FREE 

Fort Worth Botanical Gardens: Explore the fields of flowers and take in the crisp cool air. FREE

Forest Park Miniature Railroad: Take a five-mile round trip from the Forest Park Depot to the Duck Pond in Trinity Park. It is such a hilarious adventure for the little ones. Adults $4 / Kids $3.50

Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge: A local wildlife refuge that offers educational programs, family activities, and easy hiking trails.  Adults $5 / Kids $2

Fort Worth ZooGet up close and personal with animals at one of the top 5 in the nation. Had to throw in this classic. Visit on Wednesdays for half-price admission of $6 for adults and $4.50 for kids.

Noble Planetarium: Go explore the solar system through a series of shows, amazing exhibits and free Star Parties to the public. Adults $5 / Kids $4

Stroller Strides: Head on down to Clearfork Trailhead for a family stroller work out class. Then stay around and shop the Farmer's Market or enjoy some brunch at Press Cafe. FREE on Saturdays

Sundance SquareOne of my favorite places to walk around while admiring (and sometimes running through) the water floor fountain, there's also concerts on Thursday nights! FREE
