MJ, TCU Senior

Where are you from?

I am from a small town with a population of 2034 called Albany, Texas. Just imagine Friday Night Lights and you'll have a better understanding of it. haha

Describe your perfect day.

Spend the morning drinking coffee and dancing around the kitchen with my roommates to loud music. Take a day adventure, maybe skydive, idk. Watch the sunset from a tall building roof with ice cream. Eat delicious food outside to live music. Finish with a movie drive in!

What is your favorite book?

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers; Love Does by Bob Goff; You Are Special by Max Lucado

Where is your favorite place to eat in Fort Worth?

Press Cafe for brunch or Woodshed for lunch or dinner!

What fictional place would you most like to go?

Narnia hands down or maybe Candyland!

What is something many people don't know about you?

I did ballet for 15 years, but was so bad that my teacher always put me in the back corner. I really never tell anyone. haha

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about people! Understanding how people work, getting the chance to listen to their stories, and loving them wherever they are is what I want to do for the rest of my life!

What are you most excited about doing this internship?

I cannot wait to get an inside look on what it takes to run your own small business and to grow my photography knowledge!

How do you hope to grow over the semester?

I hope to tackle projects that scare me with confidence and better know my capability of completing a task well. I want to get more used to be uncomfortable and grow my love of photography!

Where are you from?

I was born in Mansfield, TX and lived there until I was 18. I am now living in the North Fort Worth/Keller area and am proud to be Texas born and raised. ;)

Describe your perfect day.

65 degrees, a light swirl of wind around me, with autumn colored leaves above my head and crunching beneath my feet. A hot cup of coffee in one hand, my husbands' fingers interlocked in the other. We are surrounded by dear family and friends, enjoying each other's company and all the beauty that our lives are immersed in. I am being hugged by a comfy sweater, warmed with a giant scarf, and secured by the fall boots around my feet I have waited all year to wear. Leisurely we are exploring a little town that resembles something directly out of a Hallmark movie. The aromas of the little bakery, architecture that tells of the town's history, warm smiles from every passing stranger... Okay, okay. Coming back to reality now. ;)

What is your favorite book?

It's a tie between two. As long as it can take me to read a book, my favorites are actually the largest books I have read thus far. David Copperfield by Charles Dickens, and Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I am a sucker for good character development and detail.

Where is your favorite place to eat in Fort Worth?

Fort Worth is a pretty big place, but my favorite spot so far is HG Supply Co. Have you tried their Dairy-Free nachos? YUMMY.

What fictional place would you most like to go?

I am not sure how I can decide between Middle Earth and Narnia. But I will say that I tried many times as a child stepping into my grandmother's wardrobe to see if I'd find a winter wonderland behind the coats.

What is something many people don't know about you?

Ever since I was young, I wanted twelve children. I remember first saying I wanted six sets of twins. Clearly, I had no idea what that would entail at that age. I'm not sure if it was Cheaper By the Dozen that inspired that, or if it was just something the Lord placed on my heart from a young age. But now that I am married, both my husband and I still hope to have a house full of kiddos! Although I can say now that I am not necessarily hoping that comes about in six sets of twins. ;)

What are you passionate about?

What I want more than anything is to help those around me see how much purpose and beauty their life is filled with. Nothing gets me more excited than when I see others living their lives knowing their worth, how loved they are, and how much goodness fills their lives, despite their circumstances.

What are you most excited about doing this internship?

I am so excited to gain a greater understanding of the administrative side of running a small business (planning, organizing, financials), as well as becoming more efficient and versed in shooting and editing a session.

How do you hope to grow over the semester?

I am hoping to grow in experience and knowledge through this internship that I can take and invest into what I am most passionate about. I love capturing times in others lives that are valuable to them because it allows them to look back and REMEMBER just how much beauty and purpose they have been created with and given. I know this internship will help me grow in skill and character, and I am so excited to see all that comes from it!
